Wrong book at first; corrected

Update: After chatting with customer support, they were so kind as to provide the updated (fixed) book to my device. Annoyed with the goof but glad this was reasonably simple to have corrected.

Original review: Somehow when this downloaded to my device, I ended up with a Superman volume 148 comic. Interesting, but not that great a read.

Stunning story

When I started reading this series, I was first taken by the assume three diminshonal art. Then I began to appreciate the point of view change from Reki Kawahara's original work. In every story, there's my version and your version, then there is the truth. The Author is careful in his naritive to note from time to time that these are reminises from "later, a long time later". Myself, I'm enjoying Asuna's version of events a lot more so far, from the more detailed Argo involvement to Asuna's acquisition of martial arts. I've been somewhat frustrated at times by Mr. Kawahara's tendancy to fast forward the story line.(I thought the whole point of SAOP was to give his fanatical fans more of the juicy details we love!?!). Great work on the elvish back story,guys!

Correct book ships if you order a hard copy!

Got a hard copy delivered to PO Box just fine. Guess it could be a glitch that's causing people to receive the wrong book via the method of digital delivery? D:

If you guys received the wrong book via digital delivery, try reaching out to Amazon Support and see if they can correct the issue, if they can't, I'm sure they will escalate your ticket to someone who will be able to resolve the matter! :D

Anyways, the book was a great read since the Progressive Arc focuses a lot more on Asuna's backstory and the development of supporting characters that influence the main cast.

Forget the pounds - do it for the pain relief!-WITH UPDATE!

My husband can't eat gluten and I ran across this book while doing my endless research on grains, inflammation and diet. This book is wonderful in many ways, but I'm going to focus my review on the information the book covers on grains and why we shouldn't be eating them. Give it chance. Don't immediately think this is the Atkins diet only with organic foods. Don't roll your eyes and think that this whole "gluten-free" thing you keep hearing about is some trend that the celebrities are talking about. This book spells out what grains do to us. Even though we had removed wheat from our diet, we had really just replaced it with a lot of corn products and other seemingly "safe" grains. We were overweight, always hungry, and my husband had a lot of pain throughout his body - just mysterious aches and pains everywhere. I was beginning to think we needed to get to a fibromyalgia specialist or a pain management doctor. I kept hanging onto this book and after several weeks of prodding, I finally got hubby to agree to give me a month on this diet. It was not an easy sell because he had already given up so many favorite foods by going gluten free, but I finally got him to say "yes." I cleaned out the pantry, made a shopping list, bought the food and we started in mid-January. Now we are in early March and we've both lost about twenty pounds each. Attention Ladies - the belly fat came off -six inches worth off my waist (I'm 49-not easy to do). But that is not why I love Mark Sisson and this book - not at all. I love it because the body-wide pain my husband had is nearly gone. He said he feels better than he has since he was a young man. I am so grateful to Mark Sisson because I was days away from looking into prescription pain relief for my husband as he deteriorated before my eyes. I hope some day I can meet Mr. Sisson and shake his hand. This morning as I left for work, my husband was bopping around the kitchen, making breakfast and looked happy and healthy. A few weeks ago he was hobbling around like an old man. His mother called me crying when she saw him walking from his car into her apartment building because she said he looked 80 years old.

Do yourself a favor and give it a month. Many people say the foods on this diet are expensive, and it is a shock to buy organic produce and meat, but a week or two into the diet, you are just not very hungry and I have found that I actually spend less on groceries. I buy grass-fed ground beef and large packs of organic chicken from Costco. We eat loads of organic salad, broccoli and kale. If we have a sweet craving we eat a little dark chocolate. Even if you can't buy totally organic - just apply the principles in the book and avoid the sugar and grains and you will feel like a new person.

Bottom line - we both feel great and my husband's pain is soon to be a thing of the past. It's great to have smaller pants, but it's even greater to have our health improved in such a short period of time.

UPDATE: September 2012 - my husband and I continue to shrink. This is the first time I have ever lost more weight than him (40 pounds)and that's just because he eats more fruit smoothies than I do. The big news is that my husband's bloodwork has completely changed in the time since I wrote the original review. Cholesterol dropped over 40 points, good cholesterol went up and triglycerides went down. CRP (inflammation) went down under 1 which means my husband is out of danger in terms of cardiac risk. This time last year my husband was in daily pain, couldn't remember anything and was being treated by a cardiologist. My husband's doctor told him he would never be able to turn his cholesterol around without statin drugs. This month, when the doctor reviewed my husband's labs he was amazed. He said, and I quote "what was the name of that book again?" This way of eating has changed our lives in ways I could not have imagined - we have so much more energy, brain fog is gone, more new pants for me, more inches off my waist, and people who haven't seen us for a while say we look 20 years younger. This plan takes commitment, but if you truly clean out the junk foods (grains) in your house and hang in there to get through the initial cravings, you will never look back. It is such a relief to never be hungry and not have to always think about food. If you are heading down the heart attack path of high cholesterol and your doctor is saying you have to get on statins - do this instead. If you have pain from arthritis or fibromyalgia, try this. It is truly life changing.

This book changd my life - BUY IT!

I feel silly writing a review for a book that already has so many reviews. But I want to put this here for those who are looking for a review that they can really trust. Check my profile and you will see that I am a long term top reviewer for amazon - I am not paid, I give my honest opinion, I don't pull any punches, and I share my opinions only to help others who love books like I do.

I bought this book in February based on the recommendation from a friend who had lost 50 lbs doing this diet. Honestly, I thought she must be exaggerating about all of the health benefits she had gotten from this lifestyle. But I had been having some serious health problems and I was desperate enough to try anything.

A bit of background: I have always eaten a very "healthy" diet - whole grains, tons of organic veggies and fruits, cooking from scratch, eating almost no junk food at all. I spent most of my adult life as a vegetarian as well.

In 8 weeks on the Primal Blueprint plan, I lost 27 lbs. I was able to go off my blood pressure medication. I feel energetic and GOOD all the time. Gone are the constant muscle & joint aches, the serious GI problems, the chronic exhaustion - it has completely changed my life. After the first 2 weeks I found the diet part to be very easy to follow [there is a detox period that can range from 1-3 weeks depending on the person].

I feel 30 years younger [I'm only 43!]. I am energetic and happy, I am able to excel in my athletic pursuits, I can play with my kids and keep up with them, I feel like a new woman.

This book has changed my life in a miraculous way. I feel so strongly about it that I have purchased several copies and given them to friends. Three of my friends are now doing this lifestyle with me and ALL of them have seen very similar improvements in health, weight, and the way that they feel. [One of my friends has her whole family on this plan and they have ALL seen amazing improvement and serious weight loss].

So, if you are tired of being fat and tired and of feeling bad all the time - this book will be the best money you ever spend. It is a serious life changer. I feel totally indebted to the author and I am extremely grateful that I decided to buy this book and try the diet.

[Update July 28 2012 - I have now lost 50 lbs using this book! The weight just keeps coming off and I feel awesome!]

Solid Info, But Not For the 50+ Woman

Without question, the logic of this book is rock-solid. And as time goes on, the theory that it's the carbs that are making us fat will be seen as truth, not cutting-edge theory.

However, for anyone buying this book for weight loss, particularly post-menopausal women, you may have to go elsewhere for help. I've been doing this diet for a solid two months, and I've actually gained three pounds. And believe me, I've been diligent...no cheating, no overdoing it on the calories.

What's funny about Mark's web site and books (I have two) is that in the photos that accompany them, he proudly shows off his strapping physique (good for him). But the woman he's with is clearly much younger than him. Undoubtedly, she's doing the primal thing, too, but as any post-menopausal woman knows, your weight issues before and after "the change" are two entirely different animals.

I even went to marksdailyapple.com for advice, but the only listing that came up under a search for menopausal weight loss was one discussion board piece written by a woman who'd suddenly gained weight after menopause, even while following the whole primal protocol. Her solution was to severely restrict her calories.

But that was the ONLY INFO on his site...or in this book for that matter...for the 50+ gal. Not criticizing his theories here...just alerting women like myself that you may feel a bit left out of this whole discussion. I'm currently researching other books that will address this sudden weight gain. (I've gained 18+ pounds in just 3 years. Pretty freaky when you've been very thin your whole life.) If anyone has some suggestions for me, I'd appreciate it. I'll be back to check the comments.

In the latest installment of Kiyosaki's Rich Dad series, he opts for an innovative approach with largely diminished returns: struggling with a way to inform average citizens on the current economic crisis, and how to rise above it, Kiyosaki decided to write a book in online installments, seeking the questions and comments of his readers (which are peppered throughout this print version). Though an undeniably effective technique for help readers identify with the material, more professional input would have produced a volume buoyed by more of Kiosaki's lucid explanation, and less bogged down with repetition, poor pacing and a rigid view of government policies. Regurgitating dogma from previous books without fleshing them out, it seems Kiyosaki is less interested in creating a new volume than in teasing his old volumes. Kiyosaki's fans will doubtless buy this and may enjoy it, but readers new to the Rich Dad series will feel obligated to buy his other books for a proper understanding-something of a "conspiracy of the rich" in itself.

Genius or Gimmick...you decide. Good Book Filled with Solid Info

First of all, I'm not a Kiyosaki fan...his style of writing just tends to annoy me however, he is one of those authors that is able to effectively communicate with the average person and often has one or two gems that make it worthwhile to read his books. Having said that, this book is a bit different than his others both in terms of content and style. It is primarily compiled from his website which by this point, is both a work in progress as well as a day by day breakdown of the current economic crisis unfolding as history. The book contains comments by readers of the website/blog as well as more traditional insight and commentary by Kiyosaki et al.

As a college instructor as well as business writer, I'm quite familar with authors that "try out" or compose a book from class notes, lectures, journal submissions and articles etc...but few have used an online format as a pure marketing ploy to generate both interest and actual content. I suspect it takes a highly recognized name and a major economic melt-down to pull it off. Sales of this book will certainly determine if it is pure genius or merely a gimmick.

Aside from the collaborative nature of the book, the actual writing retains the same consumer friendly, conversational tone found in former "Rich Dad" books with the very pleasant lack of constant reference to the "dads" which was a personal pet peeve. Personally I found this to be more readable than most and equally interesting.

The author departs from the prior "real estate" emphasis into a much broader investment perspective which includes precious metals and other assets, proper use of debt, information and much more. I was fairly impressed by both the rationale and future trends as well as the very "do-able" information presented. It is obvious the author has taken time to create something within the grasp of average Americans by first providing a framework for safety then moving beyond to creating choices for potentially more rewarding investments. At each step of the way a solid rationale is provided...whether one agrees or disagrees, it is valuable to reflect upon where the author is "coming from" in order to make up your own mind as to the validity of the position or not.

Readers that enjoyed Ron Pauls' recent 'End the Fed" will be delighted by the straight-forward discussion about the status of the government, Fed and more in this recent book. Kiyosaki doesn't mince words this time around and does so in a purely equitable manner that doesn't offend - but is designed to enlighten the reader to the dangers surrounding them at every turn.

More savvy investors may not find a lot new however, those searching for a fresh start or trying to make sense of the current economic crisis and future financial trends in an easy to understand way will truly appreciate this book. There is overlap from prior books but also a surprising amount of newer or revised content that is well worth the time of former readers to review.

Bottom line...a surprisingly good book.

Yes, Virginia, the rich do think you're Santa Claus

This remarkable book is filled with factual information, both current and historical, and although that information may discourage or frighten some readers the book is written in such a casual style that it is almost as if its story is being told by your best friend. Only, in this case your friend actually knows what he is talking about. It is a great read, and the information it conveys is simply too valuable to miss. I only wish such books had been available forty or fifty years ago.

In any event, if you are a product of America's public school system, you may very well have asked yourself, as I once did: "What have I learned in my twelve years of school that will help me get a job?" That's certainly an interesting question, but, strangely enough, the answer is far less important than the question itself. For that question reveals a mindset that has been instilled in America's children by our public education system, by conventional wisdom, and, in all probability, by almost every student's parents for generations. Namely: Get an education, get a job, work hard, buy a house, save for the future, and someday you will be able to retire and live happily ever after.

That mindset, according to this book's author, has doomed generations of Americans to a lifetime of hard work with little chance success, leading many to someday ask themselves: "Why is it that I have a good education and work hard at my job, but I never seem to be able to get ahead?" The answer, again according to this author, is that, despite the fact that America is a capitalist society, our public schools only train our children to be good employees, good soldiers, professionals, and small business owners, but teach them nothing about money and finance or how to properly invest and prosper in a capitalist system.

This book seeks to break that mindset by encouraging its readers to change their attitudes from "I can't do that" to "How can I do that" and offers fairly specific suggestions and guidelines as to how individual successes might be achieved. The trick, Mr. Kiyosaki avers, is to first change your way of thinking, then study your chosen direction, and finally work toward getting out of what he terms the "Employee/Small Business" (E/S) quadrants, in which the odds are stacked against you; and into the "Big Business/Investor" (B/I) quadrants wherein lies greater opportunity, lower taxes, cash flow without labor, and the opportunity to exploit those in the E/S quadrants.

After reading this book, I came to the conclusion that it is invaluable, especially to young adults, and should be read by every thinking American. I also came to the conclusion, however, that the book's title is something of a misnomer. It should really be entitled "The Conspiracy of the Super Rich," for they, the politicians they control, and the heads of America's largest banks are the ones who perpetrated and carry on the conspiracy.

So, yes, Virginia, there is a conspiracy of the rich, and if you reside in the E/S quadrants, as virtually all of us do, you are one of their Santa Clauses. But, strangely enough, "the rich" aren't really those we are led to believe they are. They aren't those making over $200,000 per year, who presumably should be punished for it, or minor millionaires. They are the anonymous "Super Rich" who make the rules and control the game. And they are well above it all.

Big Picture Money... If you work for your money, you need to know this.

Considering R. Kiyosaki is a wealthy man from his other books he is really providing a patriotic service to our country. As a student of the banking system and money in general, he does expose the fundamentals of who "prints" our money and to the private organization a large part of our federal taxes feed.

Because of his platform and fame, he really is exposing himself to risk on this one. He's really connecting the dots. I'm sure those in control will not appreciate this being in the mainstream. He clearly states that change isn't coming with Obama (or any President, rep. or dem) and we'll have to be the change. This book operates on this fundamental... in order to break the rules, you have to know them well. You need to know the fallacies of the "old" rules of money before you can apply the "new" rules.

This book will open your eyes to what money really is... shouldn't you know what most of the world goes to work for every day?

About the Author
Joseph and Lilian Le Page are the Directors of Integrative Yoga Therapy and Enchanted Mountain Yoga Center in Brazil. Joseph founded Integrative Yoga Therapy in 1992. Since then, he has trained more than 2,000 Yoga teachers and Yoga therapists around the world. Joseph brings together insights through his study of Yoga, educational systems, and healing arts to form a comprehensive and creative educational program. Lilian graduated from the four year teacher training program of Vayuananda and also completed a three year Vedanta study course on the Bhagavad Gita. Her teaching foucuses on Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha, and meditation. Joseph and Lilian live at Enchanted Mountain Center in Southern Brazil, where they lead Yoga training programs and vacations throughout the year.

Primary Resource for teaching yoga

I received my yoga teacher certification in '99 in Integrative Yoga Therapy with Joseph LePage. As part of our training, we are given a 300 page manual. While extremely comprehensive, it can be a bit daunting to use weekly in planning yoga classes. Joseph's Yoga Teachers' Toolbox is convenient, concise, yet thorough. Each "flashcard" explains which chakras are affected, how to teach the posture, excellent modifications with photos, and these flashcards are easily copied to be carried to class. I can't recommend this toolbox enough. No matter which teacher training you have completed, this will be an excellent resource for beginning and experienced teachers.

Great tool for teachers

This is a great tool for teachers. The book is a three ring binder that holds removeable cards that can be used for your yoga lessons. Each card contains the posture, the chakras and the prana vayus (just to name a few) that pertains to the posture. Just a great learning tool and very useful!

Great sequences. Perfect for useing in class. Laminated clearly numbered pages, makes for easy reading as well as taking pages out , to take to class. As the pages are laminated and well laid out they do not get damaged. I am studying with the BWY in the UK and have recommended this book to all my fellow students.
